GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 318462
Move "save draft" button away from "send" button
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:04:26 UTC
This bug has been opened here: https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17433 "Please describe your feature request: I'd like to request that the "Save as draft" button be moved to the other end of the toolbar, as it's dangerously close to the "Send the message" button. A mis-placed mouse could result in major embarassment if an email was sent rather than saved. I'd call it a usability issue."
hmmm... i dislike all those "don't put anything near the send button", "don't put anything near the "forget passwords" menu item" etc requests, but sure, valid. what about a confirmation dialog "are you really sure you want to send this message"? ;-p naa, just kidding and only my opinion, at least confirming the bug.
Adding usability keyword.
I guess there was a bug, that dont put 'attach' near 'send' since, many hit send while trying to attach. So we introduced 'save draft' near 'send'. What u think can be better placed near send. It cant be just lying alone there. I felt the earlier one more valid than this. Attach is clicked more often, so it made sense i guess. If we remove Save Draft, the next button would become a bug. Or else remove send from there, but i dont think that is the solution. I dont think we can go in that fashion. I prefer to close this, but wanted ur opinion too.
distro comment: "Fair enough. How about a spacer between "Send" and whatever then?" As said on the distribution's bugzilla the place should probably used, I would just close this bug, that's a detail, thanks.
distro comment: "I mean one of those vertical bar spacers | as used between other button groups on the toolbar. Doesn't take up much room, but gives the user a moment to realize their mouse has slipped off the "Save" button. "
well.. thatz a nice one. ill get this in.
reopening. i have no idea why this is set to needinfo.
