GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 317651
smb:// request doesn't store user/passwd in keyring
Last modified: 2008-09-06 19:07:55 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I try to connect to windows share with smb://<some ip>/<share> nautilus asks me for user/password/domain. After submiting password, user name and domain name in that dialog I clicked connect button but recieved just the same dialog again. After several attempts to connect, I clicked cancel button and with some kind of magic it had connected to share. Even if I select to store my credentials in keyring - nautilus continues to ask me for them on every connection. Steps to reproduce: try to connect to Windows 2k server share, protected with domain user name Actual results: natilus asks for password again and again. Click on Cancel lead to connection, which is rather strange Expected results: connection to share Does this happen every time? yes Other information: Ubuntu 5.10 current
so you guys, can't confirm it? no smb shares around or what?
Fixed in 2.14
gnome-vfs has been deprecated and superseded by gio/gvfs since GNOME 2.22, hence mass-closing many of the gnome-vfs requests/bug reports. This means that gnome-vfs is NOT actively maintained anymore, however patches are still welcome. If your reported issue is still valid for gio/gvfs, please feel free to file a bug report against glib/gio or gvfs. @Bugzilla mail recipients: query for gnome-vfs-mass-close to get rid of these notification emails all together.
