I know I'm asking for perfection, but could you clean that up so it's in the style of the existing examples/book/ examples? Otherwise, I have to do that myself. Calculating a big prime, instead of drawing, would probably simplify the code.

Sorry, I don't see much difference compared to the first attachment.
I have added an example to HEAD here: http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtkmm/examples/book/update_ui/ Please submit your corrections as a patch for gtkmm, after reopening this bug. You might need to do that because I'm not sure what these "both ways" are.
