GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 317213
"Cancel All " button in the Send/Receive dialog should close the dialog
Last modified: 2016-05-11 17:53:05 UTC
Distribution/Version: SuSE Linux 10 1. When you click on Send/Receive in evolution client window the Send/Receive dialog comes up with each of the accounts having one "cancel" button. 2. Also the dialog has Cancel All at the bottom. 3. I think when a user clicks on "Cancel All" the Send/Receive dialog should be closed otherwise a user has to do it by clicking on the X on the right top corner.
i second it. adding srini to the CC list

This is a _very_ serious bug, not an enhancement. It pretty much renders Evolution useless, as the non-closing window is just a symptom of the fact that sending (or receiving) hanged, and there's nothing you can do to recover it short of rebooting (or if you know what you're doing going about and kill(1)-ing evolution processes). This is turning up to be a very serious problem: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=208227 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=208724 Details: when clicking the "Check mail" button, the sending task blocks (I have an IMAP account, a local one, and the SMTP one), and Cancel will not do anything as already explained. The only way to kill the window is via the X window button, but once this happens the task remains hanged forever meaning that (1) you can no longer send any mail, and (2) you can not close Evolution, as it just hangs completely during shutdown. Here is a backtrace of such a hang:

I use evolution 2.8 and when i click on "Cancel ALL", it really closes the dialog. In other words, this bug doesn't affect me. I have only POP3 accounts, none IMAP. Maybe this?
Even if i don't have any account enabled and click on send/ receive, i cann't close send/receive window by clicking on cancel all.
This is obsolete these days, as far as I know (and tested). I'm closing this as such.
