GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 316368
gst_pad_query assertion failed when playing a DVD in Totem
Last modified: 2008-02-08 00:19:13 UTC
This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=15275 "When I insert a DVD in Totem I get the following on the command line: (totem:13410): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_pad_query: assertion `GST_IS_PAD (pad)' failed and a dialog stating: Internal GStreamer error: pad problem. File a bug. This is for a DVD that loads straight to a menu. ... > Thanks for your bug. Do you have gstreamer0.8-dvd installed? ... Yep. I also discovered that at least one DVD (The Life Aquatic) that opens on an animated menu works fine, so hopefully I'll be able to use totem-gstreamer for most of my DVDs now. The affected DVD is The Prodigy's "Baby's Got a Temper" DVD single, which I'm sure absolutely no one else owns. To give a better description of the problem, there's a menu fade-in and sound plays for an initial 7 seconds (as listed on the counter), then when it tries to switch into the mode where the menu would become active it crashes. ... Solved the "dvdnav_get_next_block": Error reading NAV packet.." error, I've re installed libdvdcss2, it must of got corrupted durind the install. The pad problem only seeems to affect music videos (I've tried it on five, all region 0, I don't know if this is part of the problem)"
Also seems to happen on Family Guy (Season 1, R4) and The Crow (R1), both of which also complain about errors when finding CSS keys, then later that libdvdnav can't find a suitable language (for the menus, i presume). In the Family Guy case, it says: GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_pad_query: assertion 'GST_IS_PAD (pad)' failed libdvdnav: Language 'en' not found, using '[][]' instead libdvdnav: Menu Languages available: [][]
This is ancient, so I'll close this. Please open a new bug if you find bugs with the GStreamer 0.10-based Totem.
