Description Christian Persch 2005-09-13 13:58:03 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
0) Start evince
1) Xnest -ac -scrns 2 1: &
2) DISPLAY=:1 evince

Result:
2nd window opened on screen :0, not :1.
Comment 1 Christian Persch 2005-09-13 14:06:17 UTC
Err make that Xnest.... :1 not "1:"
Comment 2 Christian Persch 2005-09-14 11:22:09 UTC
Evince probably needs to send the screen/display identifier along the openURI
DBUS call.

But the problem is wider: Evince needs to decide if it wants to use a
per-screen, per-display, or per-machine application model. See also Epiphany bug
112779 (esp. bug 112779 comment 13 ff). Evince is facing the same problem as
Epiphany, namely that profile needs to be shared but cannot be shared (here:
metadata file).

This breaks evince on multihead desktops, bad news. No time for 2.16, but this bug should be high priority for the next release cycle.

I've just fixed it in cvs head.

It seems I forgot to close this bug. Marking fixed now.
