Description Mikko Lehtisalo 2005-09-10 23:57:24 UTC
Distribution: Unknown
Package: Evolution
Severity: Normal
Version: GNOME2.12.0 2.4.x
Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org
Synopsis: Crashes on startup with mailer
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer
Bugzilla-Version: 2.4.x
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.12.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
I defined an imap email account. Evolution crashed instantly after it.
When I try to start it up, it just crashes. (Unless if I start it to
calendar etc. But it crashes when I switch to mail.)

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Define email account (not sure if required, but I can't get easily
rid of it?)
2. Start evolution to mail view
3.

Expected Results:
No crash.

How often does this happen?
Always.

Additional Information:
The version I have is current CVS, fetched it ~1 hour ago.

One thread matches the one in Bug 313072 ... possible duplicate?
Comment 2 Mikko Lehtisalo 2005-09-11 10:04:08 UTC
If I "evolution -c calendar" and go change the server type to IMAP4rev1, the
crashing stops. Change back to IMAP, it occurs again instantly.

Comment 3 parthasarathi susarla 2005-09-18 10:02:43 UTC
Appears to be an issue with the SSL libs. Have you recently made any changes
with regard to Mozilla libs?
Comment 4 Mikko Lehtisalo 2005-09-18 13:48:37 UTC
I have never used Evolution so I can't tell wether it has been ever actually
working without crashing with some other library versions. In other words, I
have no slightest idea.

Comment 5 parthasarathi susarla 2005-09-18 18:11:03 UTC
Cool. Thanks. Although am not able to reproduce the bug wiht any configuration.
Following it up.

Bug Buddy Traces

Hello.

I had Evolution crash on me while just starting it up: it does in fact crash on me when starting up somewhat frequently. The dupfinder says it matches this bug, so I'll attach the traces from BugBuddy.

Thanks.
Comment 7 Akhil Laddha 2008-08-12 11:31:16 UTC
can anyone please try in current stable 2.22.3.1 and provide updated traces if problem still exists, thanks in advance.
Comment 8 Akhil Laddha 2009-09-09 12:27:26 UTC
This version is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any
further security or bug fix updates.
The current stable GNOME and Evolution version is 2.26.

Can you please check again whether this issue still happens in Evolution 2.24
or 2.26 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version"
field? Thanks a lot.

Again thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed
for the version you originally used here.

Without feedback this report will be closed as INCOMPLETE in 6 weeks.
Comment 9 Akhil Laddha 2009-10-27 04:33:22 UTC
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug; however, closing due to lack of
response of the reporter, sorry. if you still see this issue with a current
release of evolution (2.26.3 or 2.28.x or later), please reopen. thanks in advance.
