GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 314520
Page auto numbering is not initialized for each print
Last modified: 2005-08-26 13:44:07 UTC
Please describe the problem: When printing a workbook, the auto page numbering in the page footer fails to be re-initialized to 1 for each print. Successived prints have the page number starting after the last page number of the previous print. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a new spreadsheet and enter some text 2. File > Print 3. Click on print preview , inspect page numbers in footer 4. Close preview, then click on print preview again. Sheet 1 is now page 2 Actual results: Only the very first print preview, or print is numbered correctly, any print after the first will not start numbering from 1. Expected results: Every print run should re-initialize the page counter to 0 (Or 1, not sure how it is implemented). Does this happen every time? On the Debian/sid package 1.5.3-2, this happens every time. Other information:
I forgot to mention, this is not limited to Print Preview in the print dialog, it is just the most environmentally friendly way to illustrate the problem. The same results can be found if you output to printer, and it is does not make a difference if you close the print dialog between print/print preview events. You need to close, the spreadsheet between prints to clear the counter. I just discovered another way to clear the counter. File > Print Preview behaves correctly, and resets the counter, so you can print again. There is a difference in what happens from the print preview button from the print dialog, and the print preview from the file menu.
Confirmed. Note, that if the print dialog is closed and reopened, the page numbers go back to 1.
fixed in cvs.
