GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 311534
Maximised Firefox window after fullscreen is unmaximised
Last modified: 2005-10-27 02:48:17 UTC
Please describe the problem: You have the application mozilla-firefox (v1.0.4) in maximise. You go to fullscreen mode by pressing the F11 key. Leaving fullscreen mode, by pressing again F11, the window of firefox have the same geometry like it where maximise, but it is in unmaximise state. It does not restore the correct window state which had before the fullscreen mode. The problem exist for months, and with different versions of metacity and firefox. I am using Debian Unstable. Steps to reproduce: 1. Maximise Firefox window 2. Press F11 to go to fullscreen mode 3. Press F11 again to leave from fullscreen mode 4. The window state is now unmaximised. Actual results: Expected results: To restore the window state that the application had before entering the fullscreen mode. Does this happen every time? With Firefox yes. Other information:
I can duplicate with Mozilla.
What happens with the steps to reproduce: 1. Maximize Firefox window - As you expect 2. Press F11 to go to fullscreen mode - Firefox instructs Metacity to unmaximize the window at the same time 3. Press F11 again to leave fullscreen mode - Firefox sends configure requests to Metacity to specifically request that it gets resized to a size that looks like it's maximized; apparently firefox is trying to handle the "restore my previous size" stuff manually, but buggily. You'll need to file this bug against Firefox.
