GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 309237
broken imap server workaround
Last modified: 2005-08-09 10:39:40 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I upgraded from evolution 2.0.4 to 2.2.2 on Debian testing, some of my imap html mail quit rendering correctly. I had the problem going to 2.0.4 also but setting the environment variable CAMEL_IMAP_BRAINDAMAGED took care of it. Having CAMEL_IMAP_BRAINDAMAGED doesn't seem to matter on 2.2.2. I have had to go back to 2.0.4 because it renders the mail correctly. Steps to reproduce: 1. have evolution use imap with imap.myrealbox.com mail server 2. open html mail 3. Actual results: some of the mail displays the raw html Expected results: the html to be rendered correctly Does this happen every time? yes Other information: when I had the problem after going to 2.0.4 I entered bug report 236896
Created attachment 48481 [details] CAMEL_DEBUG=all file
the previous bug report when going to 2.0.x was bug 271202
I have the same problem with IMAP from myrealbox.com. KMail displays these mails correctly, as does Outlook Express.
CAMEL_IMAP_BRAINDAMAGED was only put into 2.0.x for testing purposes, so it isn't present in the newer code. I guess it may be easiest to just add the code to newer releases.
(BTW as suggested from the environmental variable name, it is infact a bug in the server ...)
