Description Ash 2005-06-26 17:38:24 UTC
Run gnome using gamin, apparently with either inotify or dnotify backends.
1. After a while notice some 'end from FAM server connection' messages on the
console.
2. After some more time with open dirs in nautilus and use of gtk file selector,
notice slow slystem performance and repeated connection ends on the console -
maybe 2 every second.
3. Kill nautilus and then gam_server to stop it.

This was introduced after the merge on Jun 13th at 11:11 or so, i.e some time
after the latest inotify patch (a snapshot from 11:15 onthat day works fine).
Also it was introduced on the 13th or 14th so it seems to be those first three
cleanup merges from Neal Walfield. Dunno which one..

gamin is not under active development anymore and has not seen code changes for many years.
Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gamin/commits/master

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
