Description Roland Stigge 2005-06-21 20:35:13 UTC
Distribution/Version: Debian

A Debian user reported the following:

===========================================================================
The UML "Class" is translated into traditional Chinese (zh_TW locale) as "h".
This term means "class" as in a "class" in society, e.g., the labour class, etc.
This is the wrong translation in the context.

[...]

In the class properties window, "Abstract" is also clearly mistranslated. Also,
while it can be argued that "Attributes visible" and "Operations visible" could
be correct, the translations are strange and somewhat misleading.

Without the correct translation there is nothing Dia maintainers can
do to fix - at least AFAIK none of them is able to provide or even
judge a chinese term ...
Comment 2 Roland Stigge 2005-06-26 16:23:58 UTC
I'm aware of this. Maybe we can mark the messages in question as "untranslated".
I don't know if another language (en) is better than a wrong translation, though...

I'm traditional Chinese translation team coordinator, and can
take care of that. Just take a brief look and found that
quite some terms need to be corrected, not just those ones
mentioned in bug report. I'll have contact with translator
and ask how that should be done.
