It would be nice if Gossip remembered whether it was iconified or not.
Alternatively, there could be a menu option for Gossip to start minimized.

By iconified then I guess you mean hidden or shown, this currently works in CVS by  clicking on the icon in the notification area.

I have just committed work which allows this feature to be configurable from the main menu in Gossip instead of ONLY by the notification area.
