Implments File Logging. Patch to file [gedit-debug.c].
Comment 2 Paolo Maggi 2005-06-13 08:41:07 UTC
Thanks for the patch Muthiah, I apreciate you working on gedit.
However I have some concerns about the new features you want to add.

In particular, in this case, it is not clear to me why you think saving the logs
on a file could be a useful feature. Note that you can simply obtain the same
result by redirecting the stdout of gedit.

Muthiah, if you want to help out in gedit (a really great idea :),
it is better that you talk to me or Paolo Borelli before you start working.
The reason for that is that we have a better understanding on
what it is needed for the project.
Please don't stop coding on gedit, I hope to get more contributions from you again.
I am only saying that we should focus on the most important aspects first.

I can help you to find tasks that you can work with in gedit.
You can meet me in irc on the server "irc.gimp.org" in the
channels #gedit.
