Well, to be honest, I preferred the old mode, and for the following reasons:

1) It could be hidden or unhidden via a simple arrow which expanded/retracted
the Attachments Area.
2) I don't often send attachments, and therefore don't often care to see a big
Attachments Area.
3) It takes up screen real-estate needlessly.
4) I don't see a way to get rid of it/hide it."

should be fixed in the next releases, there is already a patch for that

Sebastiem,

I recently fixed it. Now it wont be open by default, visible only when u add
one. Also goes off, when all the attachments are gone.

Im also planning to add a vpane so that the bar can be resized when attachments
are there.
