in less than 60 sec? from proper graphics types (like
.tiff:) to a WAP suitable form; they call it wbmp ?

ImageMagick version 5.2.0 (00/06/01) can load these types of files.

Does their licence allow us to re-use their code?

Austin

Some time ago, I downloaded a WBMP plug-in written by
Yu Gin Ng. (yugin@eudoramail.com) This plug-in is not
listed in registry.gimp.org, although I thought that I
got it from there.

Unfortunately, the plug-in was written for gimp 1.0.4
and it does not work with the latest version of the Gimp.
It saves an invalid wbmp file that cannot be re-opened by
any program, including the plug-in itself.

Maybe you should get in touch with the author at the
address mentioned above and ask him if he has an updated
version available.

Re-assigning all Gimp bugs to default component owner (Gimp bugs list)
Comment 3 Michael Natterer 2001-06-19 00:34:23 UTC
Reassigned to current CVS because it's a wishlist item.
Comment 4 Alan Horkan 2003-07-23 18:39:42 UTC
Changes at the request of Dave Neary on the developer mailing list.
I am changing many of the bugzilla reports that have not specified a target
milestone to Future milestone. Hope that is acceptable.
Comment 5 Maurits Rijk 2003-07-24 07:45:20 UTC
Is this actually something we still want? wbmp is a pretty
straightforward format, and providing such a plug-in wouldn't be that
difficult, but the question is: does it belong in the GIMP
distribution? Personnaly I think not, so therefore I'm going to close
this report :)
Comment 6 Pntus 2005-07-26 13:32:12 UTC
Yes, we still want wbmp support in gimp! :)
Comment 7 Maurits Rijk 2005-07-27 06:49:35 UTC
Gimp# (gimp-sharp, http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-sharp) has a plug-in
that can read wbmp files. Writing wmbp is almost trivial, but still work in
progress.
Comment 8 Sven Neumann 2005-07-27 09:59:40 UTC
Pntus, sorry but it doesn't work that way. What would work is if you said, look
guys, I have written this WBMP plug-in for GIMP, would you mind including it
with the next release?
