Appointment recurrence options very poor
Last modified: 2009-01-12 20:26:29 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: 1.2.1 Synopsis: Appointment recurrence options very poor Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Calendar Description: Description of Problem: The only options for setting recurrence of appointments is (days, weeks, months). The only exceptions available are specific dates. This should also support the use of day names (Sun, Mon, etc) and/or "weekdays" for more realistic and actually useful recurrence rules. Thanksgiving occurs on the 4th Thursday of November every year. The local Linux Users Group meeting occurs on the 1st Thursday every month. I get a paycheck on the 3rd of the month unless that falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case it is deposited the Friday or business day before the 3rd. If the_weather_report_is_favorable_predicate() == true, I plan to go skiing on Saturdays during Christmas Vacation. I'd like events like that to be available in other applications, such as Gnucash for the schedule of when my check is deposited. Evolution doesn't need to know when to make the scheduled transaction, but maybe Gnucash could use the same routines if they are part of a shared library. Maybe it could use an Evolution calendar server?
Another example: I've set up a scheduled transaction with the bank that only executes if there are more than CHF8000 on my account. (Obviously I'd have to have my gnucash data quiter up to date for this to always execute or not execute correctly, but I'd expect it to be right mist if the times.)
This is much better nowadays. If you're missing specific functionality please file specific bug reports. FIXED.
