GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 230288
CTRL + SHIFT selection doesn't work as expected.
Last modified: 2009-12-17 16:52:47 UTC
Description of Problem: Selecting emails with CTRL+SHIFT doesn't work as expected. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open a mail folder with many messages (more than 10) 2. Select the top email 3. Press SHIFT and select the email down three from the currently selected email. You should now have four emails selected and SHIFT works as I would expect it to in this case. 4. Now, PRESS CTRL and select the email two below the current selection. CTRL-Click should add this email to the list of selected emails. You should know have five emails selected and CTRL works as expected. 5 Now, PRESS CTRL+SHIFT and select the email two below this. The selection changes to include only the email selected in step 4 and the two below it (three in total). This is not expected behaviour. I would expect the original selection to remain selected. Expected Behaviour: SHIFT+click should select everything between the previously selected item and the current item. CTRL+click should add (or subtract) items to the lists of currently selected items. SHIFT+CTRL+click should add (the CTRL bit) the new range of items (the SHIFT bit) to the current list. Currently Evolution seems to ignore CTRL when shift is click, however CTRL should also effect the behaviour of the selection.
etable issue
This report has not seen any changes or updates for more than 3 years. Also, GAL was merged into Evolution in June 2005. Actual GAL bugs are now located in the Product "Evolution", component "GAL". The external, separate GAL codebase will not receive any changes. We kindly ask you to check whether the issue you have reported here still happens in GNOME 2.26 or 2.28. If so, please update this report by adding a short comment, removing the NEEDINFO state, updating the "Version" field and moving this to the Evolution product (if you have sufficient Bugzilla rights to do so). Again thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be handled for the version you originally used here.
Closing as per last comment. Feel free to reopen and move this to Evolution if it is still valid.
