GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 214692
Evolution can't print when composing new message
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:03:47 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: 0.16 Synopsis: Evolution can't print when composing new message Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Description: Evolution doesn't let you print a new message you are writing... Unknown reporter: eriknordstrom@telia.com, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com.
Confirmed with 0.99.0 How bad is this? Do we really want to add support for printing while composing? The workaround is simple: print it after it has been sent. Other mail-application (I checked mozilla mail) support this. Thanks for the report. Setting priority to wishlist, confirming, assigning to evolution-mail-maintainers@ximian.com
Slightly more than wishlist. By the slightest, tiniest of hairs.

I was reminded of this recently by a friend whose company deploys Linux desktops for other companies. They've chosen Thunderbird as the mailer, and quoted this as "one of the little Evolution problems that piss regular users off".
might be able to do this as a plugin, maybe
adding keyword eplugin as per last comment, dunno if it makes sense to do this as a plugin (why shouldn't it be implemented to be *always* possible to print from composer?)
I still think this is a very bizarre request, i've never wanted to print my own emails before they're sent. Doing it as an eplugin is just an easy way for a contributor to write it.
plugin 'print-message' committed to CVS Head.
