Description linuxjim 2001-08-20 03:21:12 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Normal
Version: 0.12.99
Synopsis: More of a suggestion than a bug report.
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Miscellaneous

Description:
When I send e-mails, evolution apparently sends the To: and CC: entries by display-
ing the recepient's full name from my contacts db as well as their e-mail addresses.
Some people like their anonymity. Could you put in a selection box to "Display Full
Name from Contact list" or "Display E-mail Address" for recipients. (You know who's)
Outlook does this and is a needed feature for paranoid people in the world.

Also, I did notice that when I am reading e-mails by double clicking and viewing in
seperate window, if I delete a message, which correctly brings up the next e-mail in
the list, then I try to forward the new, undeleted e-mail, when the new window pops
up for forwarding info, it is the previously deleted e-mail. Actually, I think it is the first
e-mail I double clicked to open. Apparently, when you delete an e-mail in seperate
window, it is not changing the focus in the main Inbox window. So, when I select
forward, it is pulling the info from the focused, first selected, e-mail, not the current
e-mail I am working with.

Oh, yeah! Thanks for adding the Next and Previous buttons in the seperate window
e-mail reader. I appreciate that one.

Keep up the fantastic work folks! This thing is headed for the software history books! Reach
over your respective shoulders and pat yourselves on the back!

You need to file a seperate bug for mailer feature.. if it is still
happening.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
