Description Miles Lane 2001-07-23 16:17:16 UTC
For example, this URL (which I received in e-mail from Apple Corp.) uses
anchor tags:

<A HREF="#article1"><img
src="http://a772.g.akamai.net/7/772/51/68b8103a526a90/www.apple.com/enews/2001/07/images/13qtc1.gif"
alt="Spider-Man Walks the Web" width="340" height="20" border="0"></A><BR>

Currently, clicking on this link in the mail message causes
Mozilla to load with #article1 as the URL. :-(
Comment 1 Radek Doulik 2001-08-14 07:26:51 UTC
I think Larry is most competent in URL related problems, so assigning
to him.
Comment 2 Luis Villa 2001-08-17 17:52:40 UTC
Not UI.
Comment 3 Larry Ewing 2001-10-30 07:18:05 UTC
Okay we need to fix jump to anchor for frames, once that is done it is
trivial.
Comment 4 Larry Ewing 2002-09-20 01:49:24 UTC
I was optimistic, feature = future. We need api to find anchors in
frames definitely not 1.2 at this point.

Comment 9 André Klapper 2005-05-12 13:44:33 UTC
according to dobey on irc, the anchor links in html mails support is
Evolution/Mailer and not gtkhtml/rendering. gtkhtml has api to jump to anchors :)
therefore changing, and leaving it to the mailer hackers to determine if it is
actually in gtkhtml.

Comment 13 Dub 2006-01-25 00:58:59 UTC
I actually use Evolution v2.4.0 on Suse v10.0 and the anchor problem is something I really need to be fixed...wish you will find the problem soon...

Mentioned in https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/18970 as well - confirmed with 2.6.1, bumping version.
Comment 16 Dub 2006-07-17 23:37:02 UTC
Just to re-confirm the bug with Evolution 2.6.0 on Suse v10.1...
Comment 17 miles.lane 2007-01-09 12:53:13 UTC
It takes six years to add support for anchor tags? Can this support be added soonish?
Comment 18 Dub 2007-09-11 23:39:40 UTC
Guess what... Evolution v2.8.2 on OpenSuse v10.2 and the bug...is always there!

Three weeks before OpenSuse v10.3 and before I test again for this bug! Wish to see a solution before OpenSuse v28... :(
Comment 19 Jeff Cai 2007-09-19 10:20:39 UTC
This is an important feature for mail client. So I think we should raise the priority of this bug.
Comment 20 Milan Crha 2008-02-21 09:45:10 UTC
Can someone confirm if this is working after patch from bug #431190, please?
When I was working on this then it seemed fine, thus my question.
Comment 21 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-02-22 04:04:01 UTC
Milan, I think both the bugs are same.
Comment 22 Milan Crha 2008-02-22 10:51:56 UTC
OK, so I will close this one, then.
