The Clock and Mail Notify Applet sometimes gets the number of messages
wrong. I think attachments are to blame. I include a sample mail spool
file to demonstrate this. It also counts the false messages generated by
Pine. The sample file contains one real message, but is reported as three.

When I copy this attachment to /var/spool/mail/kmaraas I get a message
count of 1. Has this bug been fixed? Should I close it?
