GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 172777
Menu accelerators are still active after hiding menubar.
Last modified: 2005-11-30 22:04:06 UTC
Distribution/Version: Gentoo Start gnome-terminal with menubar hidden. Test if the accelerators (alt+f for File menu) do not work. (They shouldn't) Right click on terminal window -> show menubar (Menubar should be visible now) Right click on terminal window -> hide menubar (Menubar invisible) Test if accelerator works (Yes it works and it's quite annoying :P) This is annoying because I use bash shortcuts a lot.
Hi Priit, thanks for reporting this bug. It should indeed be fixed. Marking NEW
I'm seeing exactly the same behavior with gnome-terminal-2.10.0-2 (stock Fedora Core 4 RPM), and am quite annoyed (for the same reason, bash Emacs-like shortcuts). I've filed this downstream bug report with Fedora/RedHat: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=164850

Created attachment 53338 [details] [review] patch this seems to do the trick (btw, until the bug gets fixed, you can do Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Disable all menu access keys)
Commited to HEAD.
