GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 172607
Gnome icon theme needs stock icons update
Last modified: 2007-07-07 23:34:08 UTC
Problem: Some stock icons are missing on gnome-icon-theme. As a result, some really old icons from gtk are shown. Proposed solution: Adding the following stock icons that belong to the industrial gtk 2.X theme: gtk-apply.png gtk-go-forward-ltr.png gtk-goto-last-ltr.png gtk-cancel.png gtk-go-forward-rtl.png gtk-goto-last-rtl.png gtk-go-back-ltr.png gtk-goto-bottom.png gtk-goto-top.png gtk-go-back-rtl.png gtk-goto-first-ltr.png gtk-go-up.png gtk-go-down.png gtk-goto-first-rtl.png gtk-refresh.png Just put 16x16 px versions of those icons on gnome/16x16/gtk/ and 24x24 px versions on gnome/24x24/gtk/. It would be nice make a copy (or a simlink) between gtk-apply.png and gtk-yes.png gtk-cancel.png and gtk-no.png This is the way that it's done on industrial theme. Other information:
Another solution would be to make this icons default on gtk 2.6/2.8... I will try to file a bug against gtk to see if this is feasible
CCing Rodney to hear his opinions on this.
I asked this bug to be filed in a reply to Lucas's mail to the usability list. I'll just go ahead and re-assign this to myself and deal with it appropriately as soon as I can. Thanks.
Most of these should be taken care of now.

Comment on attachment 72841 [details] Chocolate colored SVG icon for rotate left Doh! Sorry, I've attached to the wrong bug. Please remove it.
Some of these icons are still missing, such as gtk-cancel.png, gtk-apply.png and gtk-clear.png.
gtk-index could be added to the list as well. The stock icon looks a little out of place with the new icon theme.
(In reply to comment #8) > gtk-index could be added to the list as well. The stock icon looks a little out > of place with the new icon theme. They do indeed look out of place nowdays especially since these icons are used *a lot* in a standard gnome desktop.
gtk now ships a nice tango style set, can we close?
Absolutely, for me is just fine to close the bug.
