GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 171833
Default lock screen keyboard shortcut
Last modified: 2006-03-29 16:02:27 UTC
Lock screen should have a default keyboard shortcut of CTRL-ALT-l. This would match the default KDE configuration http://wiki.kde.org/tiki-index.php?page=Keyboard+Shortcuts It would also match Windows, I believe, making it easier for people coming over to GNOME. As the user can configure the shortcut to their own choice there is no downside to having a default offering. Other information:
Thanks for your bug. Ccing usability on this
Created attachment 56084 [details] [review] Patch adding Ctrl+Alt+l as default shorcut for lock screen
Could somebody please review the patch
I've changed this to "confirmed" in the hope that a developer will review the patch.
Can one of the maintainers of the control center please take a look at the patch? Thanks Jaap
The patch looks good to me. Only one thing, we need to make sure this shortcut doesn't conflict with others. Have you checked the HIG to see what the usual shortcuts are and if Ctrl-Alt-l is already being used?
I checked the HIG and Ctrl-Alt-l is not used!!
Ok, committed to HEAD
