GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 171573
File/Open should display thumbnails
Last modified: 2013-08-20 11:10:00 UTC
Strangely enough evince creates thumbnails for files but isn't displaying them itself when browsing for a file to open...
Created attachment 39262 [details] [review] Proposed patch Hi, this patch adds thubnail preview to the filechooser dialog for pdf and pixbuf documents. For pdf it also displays Title and n_pages if available. Maybe the widget spacing and expansion needs some love
What's the status of this? I think jrb mentions you was going to work on a gtk patch? Should we close/reassign this?
Created attachment 39849 [details] tar.gz with patch The patch above doesn't use threads and it is pdf-oriented. So I propose the following patch (updated patch from David Malcolm that also renders thumbnails in open dialog).

Ccing Jhonatan since he first looked at Fernando patch
Any progress on this one? It would be quite cool.
Evince shows small thumbnails on the filechooser dialog. I think we can close this bug report.
(In reply to comment #8) > Evince shows small thumbnails on the filechooser dialog. I think we can close > this bug report. This is not the case for me in evince 3.8.2 (Fedora 19), should this be reopened?
Strange, can you provide a screenshoot ?
