GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 171406
Uploading files from your local hard disk
Last modified: 2015-02-09 23:05:23 UTC
I haven't found a possibility to upload a file from your local hard disk without providing a link to a public URL. It would be great if that were possible. I suspect that will drive many to upload to gnome-look first, and maybe not everybody is going to post to a.g.o after that. But many may provide a link to gnome-look after that ;).
Unfortunatly this is unlikely to be possible unless someone can write or has a very safe and secure cgi script. The gnome.org system administrators do not want to enable the php upload functions since these have been insecure in the past.
is a perl script OK?
If you can prove that it is secure and doesn't cause any issues then possibly. It would have to be vetted by the gnome.org sysadmin team first.
Will be possible in new ago version, probably :).
