Description armado@hellug.gr 2005-03-16 22:05:26 UTC
Please describe the problem:
A directory with name "~" does not appear in nautilus, even if you enable show
hidden files, and reload the view.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create the directory ~ (just the symbol "~")
2. Open nautilus in the parent directory of ~
3. Even when show hidden files option is enabled, the directory ~ not appear

Actual results:

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
I am not crazy when i make the directory "~",
i do not use such names when i name directories.
I was working on a bash script, and by mistake i create this directory.
Sorry for my bug. :)

I can confirm that behaviour in nautilus 2.8 and 2.10

If a folder of that name is created on the desktop the folder is labeled as
"untitled folder". However in the properties dialogue it is shown correctly.
Nautilus does not show this folder. However folder names starting with "~",
eg "~1" are shown.

I am not sure whether "~" is a valid directory name BUT i can
create such a dir in the console and work with it. Thus I assume
it is valid for now.
