Description Andrew Lau 2005-02-02 12:52:50 UTC
Debian BTS: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=247492
Submitter: Matthias Georg Imhof <mgi@vt.edu>

Summary:

Balsa already provides an "Delete message from server after download" option,
but like other email clients, this should be expanded to accommodate
automatically deleting messages "[n] days after downloading" or after "deleting
local copy".
Comment 1 Pawel Salek 2005-02-02 12:58:15 UTC
"After deleting the local copy" may be painful to implement because it would
require attaching annotations/persistent ID to messages to track them and their
deletions and current mailbox backends do not provide that.

On the other hand, deleting n days after downloading is simpler to do as we just
attach download date to the message id...
Comment 2 André Klapper 2021-06-01 22:43:01 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/balsa/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
