GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 165997
should be compiled with default source defined by the configure script
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
Right now playbin is hardcoded to use osssink, but it should be compiled with the same default sink that configure defines as the default sink.
I added DEFAULT_AUDIOSINK and friends to config.h, and replaced every instance I could find in all the various examples in gst-plugins. This cleanup should have been done a long time ago. We really need to get rid of some of these examples. They're not useful hidden, and probably don't work anyway.
Thanks David. Does the same thing need to be done for DEFAULT_AUDIOSRC? On Solaris we use sunaudiosrc instead of osssrc. I'm not sure if there are plugins that have the default src compiled in as well.
There's no such plugins yet, but it's a good idea to prevent this from happening in the future. Let's reopen as enhancement.
DEFAULT_AUDIOSINK, DEFAULT_VIDEOSINK, DEFAULT_AUDIOSRC, DEFAULT_VIDEOSRC, and DEFAULT_VISUALIZER were all done.
