Do you mean a frame in the target window ?
That is on purpose, to make it obvious which window is the drop target.
Comment 2 Vincent Noel 2005-01-31 17:45:56 UTC
Please reopen if I'm mistaken.
Comment 3 Rudolf Schmidt 2005-01-31 19:25:10 UTC
No i mean the window where i drag from. and when i moove at the desktop it shows
a framework around the whole desktop. and what do you mean with "reopen"? did
you close the thread or fix the bug?
Comment 4 Vincent Noel 2005-01-31 19:34:55 UTC
Well, yeah, there is a frame in the window you drag from, to indicate that this
window is *also* the window you drag to when you begin the drag.
If you move the icon over another window, the frame switches to that window.

I'm still not sure this is a bug. It may be a good idea to remove the frame
around the desktop, though.
Comment 5 Christian Neumair 2005-01-31 22:14:45 UTC
Vincent: I think it would be a better idea to make this even more obvious.
Denoting clearly that you drop something on the desktop or drag from the desktop
is in my opinion a good idea.
Comment 6 Vincent Noel 2005-02-01 00:14:43 UTC
Christian : you mean by alpha-coloring the window or something like that ?
I agree with you and I think it is a big win for usability, but that would be
even worse in the eyes of the reporter ;-)
Comment 7 Rudolf Schmidt 2005-02-01 01:45:52 UTC
sry, but i write a little oftopic post. only, because i dont know where to write
this else. its possible to set gnome that its allowed to chance the windowsize
with combination alt+mouse right like in fluxbox? it would be a big win in
user-friendliness
