This should be fixed in GARNOME 2.9.90, please re-open it if it still persists.
I've just had this issue (working on the panel), here is the explanation for the curious/desperate: The error code is Bonobo_ACTIVATION_REG_NOT_LISTED, which in fact meant that the .server file for IID GNOME_PanelShell didn't exist. Having a correct /usr/lib/bonobo/servers/GNOME_Panel.server solves it.
But does anybody know how to fix this? I'm using Debian, and Gnome 2.9 did not yet appear in there channels. And I don't have the time and disk-space to start building Garnome. And I don't have good experiences with Garnome, the last time gnome-panel exited on start deu some problem with the same Bonobo Activation Server. ps. Gabriel, what content should this GNOME_Panel.server file have? So does anybody know a simple explanation for my problem?
