Description Gustavo Carneiro 2005-01-15 21:24:30 UTC
Can we change the license to LGPL? Comment blocks in source code say it's GPL,
but that's surely a mistake...
Comment 1 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2005-06-20 22:45:51 UTC
the code has been written by James Willcox, so it's up to him to change the license.
Comment 2 Olav Vitters 2005-08-11 15:55:52 UTC
Reassigning to James Willcox to provide an answer.
Comment 3 Christian Persch 2005-08-13 09:39:08 UTC
It's not just up to him; everyone who has written nontrivial code in
recent-files needs to approve the licence change; and you also need to make sure
nobody copypasted from other GPL modules.
Comment 4 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2005-08-15 17:31:52 UTC
I'll send a mail to desktop-devel and see if anyone steps up.
Comment 5 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2006-03-30 09:19:25 UTC
Closing as the recent-files code is now deprecated; the GtkRecent code in GTK is licensed under the LGPL.
Comment 6 Christian Persch 2006-03-30 10:37:56 UTC
Just to be clear: the new gtk+ recent code was developed completely independently from egg-recent, no code copied?
Comment 7 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2006-03-30 10:55:48 UTC
it has been completely independent from libegg/recent-files since day one.
