Details

Description Andrej 2005-01-14 08:41:57 UTC
I have images copied from Panasonic DMC-LC33 camera. While opening any from them
I got messages "Image resolution is out of bounds", "jpeg.exe has encountered a
problem", "plug-in crashed."

jpeg.exe crashes while opens it
Comment 2 Michael Schumacher 2005-01-14 09:06:06 UTC
AFAIK the installer still ships a 0.5.x version of libexif, which has some known
problems with EXIF data.

libexif 0.6.x can be built without problems on Win32, so the installer should be
updated to use this version.
Comment 3 Jernej Simončič 2005-01-25 20:11:47 UTC
Will be fixed in the next installer.

Alas, 0.6.11 isn't enough. Jernej, I recommend you apply the same patches Debian
applies to their libexif to the libexif you distribute.
Comment 12 Michael Schumacher 2005-03-13 16:49:31 UTC
libexif 0.6.12 has been released today.
Comment 13 Manish Singh 2005-03-13 19:38:35 UTC
Cool, libexif 0.6.12 should have all the fixes that we need for known problems.
Comment 14 Michael Schumacher 2005-03-13 21:55:23 UTC
I can confirm that it fixes bug 167699.

Comment 16 Michael Schumacher 2005-03-24 11:29:41 UTC
This is definetly something that has to be fixed in an updated installer for the
current 2.2. Setting Target Milestone accordingly.
Comment 17 Sven Neumann 2005-04-07 22:14:16 UTC
The bug reporter of bug #165362 said that the problem would be fixed with GIMP
2.2.4. Did someone forget to close this bug report?
Comment 18 Sven Neumann 2005-04-07 22:15:09 UTC
Sorry, I didn't see comment #10.
Comment 19 Jernej Simončič 2005-04-09 20:00:56 UTC
Updated libexif to 0.6.12 in the new 2.2.4 installer.
