Description Eli Gwynn 2004-12-14 00:47:51 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 3 (Heidelberg)
Package: nautilus
Severity: enhancement
Version: GNOME2.8.0 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: Folders' parent-list should respond to D&D
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: File and Folder Operations
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
Description:
Please describe your feature request:

I should be able to drag items over the parent-list of a folder and have
it drop down. I should be able to hover the item over one of the parents
in the list and have that folder open.

Does this fall in the category of "It can't be done because Apple's got
patents?"

Thanks for your bug report! I remember playing around with this and cursing
because suddently the drag icon was below the popup menu. Possibly be a GTK+
bug. On the other hand, this could really conflict with the "spring-loaded
folder" patent.

The implementation will be quiet straightforward. I'm not willing to work on
this until the patch from bug 309844 is committed, though, since the latter
changes some lines which conflict with changes for this planned patch.

Sorry, this bug has nothing to do with bug 309844. I mixed up the location bar
and the location button.

I think this is related to the spatial mode dropdown. This mode has been removed.
