GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 158306
gnome-terminal does not restore its size correctly after session-save
Last modified: 2006-04-02 17:49:59 UTC
gnome-terminal does not restore its correct size after saving the session when logging out and logging in again. This happens for me on a Fedora Core 3 system where my $HOME is NFS-mounted. After creating a clean new user environment, setting up my the gnome-terminals as I like it, logging out and saving the session I'm getting a different layout of the terminals every time after logging in.
Created attachment 33781 [details] A sample of a broken restored session. The two left terminals are too small.
Created attachment 33782 [details] A screenshot of how it should look like.
This works for me. Maybe some one can reproduce this?
I forgot to mention that I already opened bug a year ago at Red Hat's bugzilla where some other replied that they also see this problem: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=109486
Could you try a later release of gnome-terminal and VTE and report back?
I'm still seeing this problem with FC4 fully updated.
Im on BreezyBadger with Gnome-Terminal-2.12 and I also have this exact problem. Need any more info on this?
Trying hard, but cannot reproduce this with 2.13.1.
Works for me on a current FC5-rawhide system (GNOME Terminal 2.14.0).
Alex? Bernd? What do you say?
I think my fix should catch this as well, gnome-terminal wasn't saving the full geometry. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336910
