Last modified: 2020-11-07 12:14:28 UTC
Distribution: Mandrakelinux release 10.2 (Cooker) for i586 Package: gnome-panel Severity: enhancement Version: GNOME2.8.1 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: MandrakeSoft Synopsis: Evolution integration enhancements Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: clock applet Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Description: Please describe your feature request: This is turning into a nice app. Here are a few enhancements to the Evolution integration that would be helpful: 1. Add "New task" and "New appointment" to the applet context menu to launch the respective Evolution forms. 2. Double-clicking a task or appointment should bring up the Evolution editor for that item. Keep up the great work! ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2004-11-13 09:07 ------- Unknown platform unknown. Setting to default platform "Other". Item 2 is a duplicate of bug #162305.
I filed a bug in Ubuntu Launchpad regarding this: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/49681 Is this issue planned to be addressed sometime? Thank you.
So... no?
One reason the double clicking behavior would be nice is because the default clock-applet settings let you see very little of a task or appointment's name
Ditto on the double-clicking -- even if you don't add the add-task, it is really natural for a user seeing an ellipsize'd string to want to see the rest of it. Double clicking is the most obvious way to do that, so double-clicking on an appointment should open the appointment, just as double-clicking on a day opens the day in evolution.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old feature requests in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years. If you still use gnome-panel and if you are still requesting this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/ Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be implemented.
