Description mathieu boccanfuso 2004-11-03 01:00:27 UTC
That's not a bug, but a feature request :
although i've searched the entire web, i haven't been able to find a way to
configure gst-plugins to use esd on another host of my private network (in order
to get rhythbmox to play my music elsewhere).

I was wondering how difficult it would be to implement such a feature.

A precision :

$ rhythmbox --espeaker=host:port

or

$ rhythmbox --espeaker=host:port  --enable-sound

doens't do the trick. Sound is outputed on my laptop :/

use 'esdsink host=host:port' in your audiosink gconf key. Better would be to
set the ESPEAKER environment variable, which is used by all apps using esd.
