Description Kristof Vansant 2004-10-29 11:42:01 UTC
"An error occured " "Could not write to resource" this says the user nothing.
Does this mean it can not write to audio? to video? to gstreamer? to the file
I'm trying to open? It doesn't tell me anything usefull. Plz add a button
details or something. And let it give more information!
Comment 1 Ronald Bultje 2004-10-29 12:14:43 UTC
How do you get that error?
Comment 2 Kristof Vansant 2004-10-31 17:10:39 UTC
just by opening a media file like mp3 or avi
Comment 3 Kristof Vansant 2004-11-05 13:12:46 UTC
ok the problem was that my bttv as first is detected and my soundcard as second.
Result is that it tries to play sound with my bttv :)

But like I said the error message should be clearder (give more info what is
wrong) does totem or gstreamer generate the message?
Comment 4 Ronald Bultje 2004-11-05 13:58:44 UTC
GStreamer. Which audio sink do you use? I'll improve the message then.
Comment 5 Kristof Vansant 2004-11-05 15:30:03 UTC
gstreamer-mad I think (sorry but I don't know what audio sink is)

how can I get the info you need?
Comment 6 Ronald Bultje 2004-11-05 16:16:26 UTC
Start gstreamer-properties (part of gnome-media) and tell me what it says in the
box 'Audio sink'.
Comment 7 Kristof Vansant 2004-11-07 19:36:32 UTC
"default sink"
Output: ESD
Comment 8 Ronald Bultje 2004-12-01 20:41:38 UTC
Fixed in CVS. It'll say something useful now.
