Description Loïc Minier 2004-10-19 11:40:11 UTC
The OP explained that he:
1. Copies text from gedit or balsa with ^C
2. Paste in balsa with ^V
3. The text doesn't appear at the right position

I can not reproduce this myself, this is Debian bug
<http://bugs.debian.org/218953>. See the log for more information.

If you can't reproduce, there is no reason to think we will be able to.
Comment 2 Loïc Minier 2004-10-19 15:38:34 UTC
The OP can reproduce it, are you simply dropping bugs you don't understand?

It would be easier if all users were developers, but it isn't the case. Why
don't we work together to insert some debug hooks in the right functions to
understand what's happening on the OP's machine?
Comment 3 Owen Taylor 2004-10-19 15:49:04 UTC
I have no clue what an OP is.

Reading the upstream bug report, all I can figure out is:

Someone, with some version of balsa, running some version of GTK+,
had a problem with hitting Control-V pasting in the wrong place,
in a widget that is probably a GtkTextView widget.

Now, I frequently hit Control-V in GtkTextView widgets, and it pastes
in the right place.

To have any chance of us resolving a bug report, we really need
specific information that would allow us to reproduce the bug.
If you can provide that information, feel free to reopen the bug
report.

That's how I see it too, but I found your initial comment a bit too
discouraging. Now things are clearer, thanks.

I use OP for Original Poster.
