The modemlights applet can automatically detect when a modem is in use, by
looking for the lockfile. It would be nice if the netstatus applet could do this
too. 

Ideally we should be able to deprecate the modemlights applet because the
netstatus applet does much the same thing.

gnome-netstatus development has been stalled [1]. Maintainers don't have
future development plan so i am closing the bugs as WONTFIX.
