GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 152490
preview not available with xorg composite
Last modified: 2005-10-03 11:37:43 UTC
theme preview is not availible when xorgs composite extension is enabled (xorg 6.8). need to set XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS to 1 to get it working.
Is this still a problem with the latest X.org and GNOME packages? The composite stuff seems to be in its early stages still, so I guess it could be a problem with X.org?
Gnome 2.9.91 + Ubuntu Hoary X.Org 6.8.1 (which apparently has a lot of bugfixes backported from 6.8.2) still exhibits this problem.

Created attachment 45449 [details] [review] use visual depth for pixmap depth The problem is a pixmap is created with gdk_visual_get_best_depth and the window has a different depth. So just use the depth of the window for the pixmap. See bug 300651.
Both Epiphany (159767) and Evince (305073) fixed this issue so I suppose this patch should make it into CVS in time for 2.11
fixed for the current CVS and gnome-2-10, thanks for the patch!
