When I return to capplet, the settings are set to the default

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open gnome-default-applications-properties
2. Select the "Text Editor" tab
3. Select "Custom Editor" and hit browse to find a preferred one, hit
ok

The setting should change to the new preferences

How often does this happen?

Every time

I get this as well, and in addition on the console I get:

(gnome-default-applications-properties:7447): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Deprecated
function. User modifications to the MIME database are no longer supported.
Comment 2 Sebastien Bacher 2004-09-22 00:00:47 UTC
probably need to be adapted for the new mime system.
Comment 3 James Thomas 2004-11-04 12:44:10 UTC
Can confirm for 2.8 aswell.

#155612 is about the changes to make to the preferred application capplets, I'm
setting this one a dup since the new one describes this problem too
