Playing video in either totem or gst-player creates a new window with the video
content.  This just started happening in the last week or two.

By the way, if nobody can duplicate this, it's not really a blocker.  I'm really
completely stumped as to why I have this problem but nobody else seems to.

I get no video at all. No new window, but totem just stays black. Is that valid?

David, gst-player still works fine here.

Ronald, since you just upgraded distros and don't (yet) have a stable GStreamer
you can trust, and the bug is different from David's, I'm guessing it's unrelated.

Let's just ignore any thoughts about whose mistake may or may not have
theoretically contributed to the above problems.

Anyway, sdlvideosink doesn't implement overlay properly.
