close totem
reopen same video file or another video file -> OK

I am not the only one which has this bug, since I found this with google which
are the same symptoms as the ones I am having:
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-gnome-maintainers/2004-July/006121.html

I am running Gentoo with nvidia drivers 1.0.6111 with a GeForce 440Go, with the
latest available stable version of all gnome packages (2.6.2 for most of them)
Totem version: 0.99.8-r2

Maybe an issue with GeForce MX cards?
Comment 1 David Sedeño Fernández 2004-08-20 12:10:17 UTC
I have the same issue with GeForce 2 MX. The same issue with the XFree nv
driver, so it's not a driver issue.

Totem version: 0.99.15.1
Comment 2 Ricardo Silva 2004-08-20 23:12:13 UTC
Same here with 0.99.15.1 (debian pkg).

using nvidia 1.0-6111 drivers

Comment 4 Bastien Nocera 2004-09-06 12:20:08 UTC
Add the line:
Option "XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps"

to the device section of the XF86Config (or xorg.conf) file.

Adding the XaanoOffscreenPixmaps makes no difference for this bug on my system.
Comment 7 catkfr 2004-10-13 17:38:04 UTC
Installing xorg 6.8 solves this problem although it still happens sometimes
(rarely) and not in a reproducible manner.
