Description Robert Lopez 2001-01-27 17:32:58 UTC
Package: Gnumeric
Version:
Severity: wishlist

Wingz and J-Sheet have a nice feature called the
Navigator. It is located in the data entry bar
area and looks sort of like compass arrows to four
directions, up-arrow, down-arrow, left-arrow and
right-arrow. When the current selected cell is in a
data range, clicking on an arrow moves in the direction
of the arrow to the last used cell of data in that data
range. Clicking again moves to the first cell of the
next occupied cell in the next data range if another
range exists or to the edge of the worksheet.

This makes it very easy to move around on very large
worksheets.

9+ years later. Since real estate in the gnumeric window is at a premium, I have added menu items with the navigator effect to the select submenu of the edit menu and, for faster access to a pop-up menu attached to an icon in the selector entry (that normally shows the address of the selection). The pop-up menu is only available if compiled with gtk 2.16 or later.
