That assertion failed because two elements (audioconvert and interleave) failed
to link. I guess I'd need a gstreamer debug log to look at. And then probably
someone to look over it, but first things first.

Upgrade to gst-plugins CVS head. There is a fix in interleave plugin to solve this.

Patch that fixes it.

This was the patch that I committed after gst-plugins 0.8.3 was released. It
fixes the bug for people who don't want to upgrade to cvs HEAD.
