the code to fix the bug.

Could you add a comment explaining what you did? 

Tags are a somehow crude way of communications, aren't they?

"patch applyied" or "go fuck yourself, not a bug" aren't that long to type, are
they?

I second that request.

No matter how busy you are, tell your co-workers what you did.
Consider bugreporters as co-workers.

If you are coworkers, you should know that you can find the information you are
looking for in the ChangeLog, but anyway...patch applied
