Description Eugenia Loli-Queru 2004-05-21 08:19:31 UTC
When setting up colors or patterns into a folder by d-n-d open a menu asking
the user if:

* Apply to this folder only [default]
* Apply to this folder and its sub-folders
* Apply to all folders

For the third option, open an alert window asking the user if he/she _really_
wants to do this because it is going to overwrite possible past settings.

I believe that this enhancement is important, as users can categorize group of
folders as "objects" (in accordance to the spatial interface). For example, if
a user is setting all subfolders of the "development" folder with a particular
color or pattern then these folders will be easily distinguishable by the
user by of the color, there will be no reason to put energy to read what is
the current folder. It is an enhancement that is in accordance to the spatial
OO interface IMHO.

Related to this, maybe coloring the folder name (by a background thing similar
to the highlight when selected) would be a useful addition, letting you 'peek' a
little into the folder.

'Backgrounds and Emblems' have now been removed from nautilus master, see [1]. Closing this as OBSOLETE.
