Totem doesn't play 3gp files from my phone
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Record a movie on a Nokia Series 60 phone Copy the movie to a PC Try to play it in totem. It does work in mplayer -- video only though. Sound is "AMR", which seems to be supported by some versions of ffmpeg as well (http://www.cdavies.org/permalink/towardsmobiletivo.php). There is information on these files on http://blog.chris.de/archives/22_Nokias_3gp_Files.html I'll attach an example file shortly.
Created attachment 27632 [details] Example 3GP video file This video shows effect of the USB blinkenlights patch, and is rotated 270 degrees clockwise (because I tend to hold my phone like that when making videos :))
This should play with the current xine-lib CVS, thanks to Mike Melanson's patch: Update of /cvsroot/xine/xine-lib/src/demuxers In directory sc8-pr-cvs1.sourceforge.net:/tmp/cvs-serv19975 Modified Files: demux_qt.c Log Message: special provision for 'samr', another codec that doesn't play by the rules
